With a wealth of experience in information technology and customer relationship management (CRM) in the digital space, Guillermo Acilu now leads DotTribes, a startup software development company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Leveraging his understanding of community-controlled social media, Guillermo Acilu leads DotTribes in building new business processes and corresponding software applications that allow communities to take advantage of shared knowledge via networking.
Recently, DotTribes introduced the DotTribes Discovery Engine, a web-service platform integrating content, conversations, and business transactions. Users of DotTribes Discovery Engine are able to subscribe to communities maintained by other users or to services offered by the platform itself. Before he founded DotTribes, Guillermo Acilu worked extensively as a technical and business consultant for clients including Oracle Germany GmbH, Accenture Germany and Telefónica o2 Germany. For several years, Guillermo Acilu was an employee of PeopleSoft Cono Sur, eventually becoming a Senior Technical Consultant and then taking a position as an HRMS Senior Support Analyst with the same company in the Netherlands. Guillermo Acilu began his career as a Cobol developer at age 18, and worked for large financial institutions, as well as the Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo.
Guillermo Acilu was trained as a Software Technician at Technical Education School No. 35 and as a Software Engineer at National Technology University (Universidad Tecnologica Nacional), in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Guillermo Acilu graduated from the Argentinean Institute for Enterprise Development (Instituto Argentino para el Desarrollo Empresarial) with a Master of Business Administration.
